Acne treatment at The Aesthetic Studio is led by Dr Koh Li Wen, who specialises in acne management and has pursued advanced training in this area. The clinic takes a multi-modality approach to both active acne and acne scarring, recognising that these often require different treatment strategies. For active acne, the AGNES RF device is a standout technology: ultra-fine insulated microneedles deliver radiofrequency energy directly into individual sebaceous glands, permanently reducing their oil production and preventing future breakouts in treated follicles. Clinical studies show AGNES RF can achieve significant and sustained acne reduction with a series of three to four sessions, without the systemic side effects associated with oral medications such as isotretinoin. Carbon Laser Peel (Hollywood Peel) complements active acne treatment by unclogging pores, reducing surface bacteria, and improving overall skin texture. The carbon mask is applied to the face, absorbed into pores, and then vaporised by a Q-switched laser that simultaneously stimulates collagen and reduces sebum production. For acne scarring, the clinic offers Fractional CO2 Laser resurfacing — the most effective ablative treatment for ice-pick, boxcar, and rolling scars — as well as Gold RF Microneedling (Morpheus8) which remodels subdermal scar tissue with minimal surface downtime. Picosecond Laser is used for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) left behind by healed acne lesions.
