HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) Ultraformer III is the third generation of clinical HIFU technology and represents the current standard for non-surgical face lifting. Unlike radiofrequency devices that heat superficial tissue layers, HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy to precise anatomical depths — 1.5mm (superficial dermis), 3mm (deep dermis), and 4.5mm (the SMAS layer, or Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) — without heating the skin surface. This depth specificity allows the device to target the same fibromuscular layer that surgeons tighten during a traditional facelift. At each focal depth, the concentrated ultrasound creates thermal coagulation points (TCPs) — micro-injuries that stimulate the body's wound-healing response. The immediate effect is mild contraction of collagen fibres at the focal point. Over the following 60 to 90 days, the body produces new collagen and elastin around each TCP, gradually lifting and tightening the tissue above. The full result is typically visible 3 months after treatment and continues to develop for up to 6 months.
