PRP Hair Treatment

Type

PRP Hair Treatment

Duration

1 hour

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections to stimulate hair follicle activity and slow hair loss, using the patient's own growth factors for a natural, non-surgical approach.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy at Terra Medical is a non-surgical treatment that harnesses the patient's own regenerative biology to stimulate dormant hair follicles and reduce progressive hair thinning. A small volume of blood is drawn, centrifuged to concentrate growth factors and platelets, and then injected into the scalp at targeted areas of hair loss. The concentrated PRP contains growth factors — including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and IGF — that signal follicular stem cells to enter the anagen (active growth) phase, improve blood supply to the follicle, and extend the duration of the growth cycle. The result is thicker, stronger hair shafts over a series of sessions. At Terra Medical, PRP is often used as a standalone maintenance treatment for early-stage hair thinning, or as a post-transplant adjunct to support graft survival and accelerate new hair growth. The procedure takes approximately 45–60 minutes and requires no downtime. Most patients undergo 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by periodic maintenance sessions every 6–12 months. PRP is most effective for androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern hair loss) in the early to mid stages. It is not a substitute for a hair transplant in cases of advanced baldness, but it can meaningfully slow progression and improve existing hair density when combined with a comprehensive hair health plan.
