The complete blood count with differential is particularly relevant for women of reproductive age — iron-deficiency anaemia affects 10-20% of European women aged 15-49 due to menstrual blood loss, and the CBC detects it through low haemoglobin, reduced MCV (microcytic), and low MCH (hypochromic).
