HALO hybrid fractional laser resurfacing at The Swan Center targets sun damage, fine lines, uneven texture, enlarged pores, and pigmentation using Sciton's dual-wavelength fractional technology. The HALO delivers simultaneous ablative and non-ablative laser energy through the same pass, combining surface renewal with deeper collagen remodelling. Typical downtime is three to five days of redness and peeling. Prices from $1,500.
The Swan Center for Plastic Surgery offers HALO laser skin resurfacing — Sciton's proprietary Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL) technology — as a non-surgical skin renewal treatment performed at their Alpharetta facility. HALO is unique among fractional laser systems in that it delivers two distinct wavelengths simultaneously through the same handpiece: a 1470 nm non-ablative wavelength and a 2940 nm ablative wavelength. The non-ablative component generates coagulative heating in the mid-dermis without removing the surface skin layer, stimulating fibroblast activity, new collagen synthesis, and dermal remodelling from below. The ablative component removes microscopic columns of epidermis within the fractional treatment zones, triggering surface renewal as the treated micro-channels resurface. Because both wavelengths act simultaneously rather than sequentially, the HALO system reduces total treatment passes while achieving both dermal remodelling and epidermal renewal in a single session — a time efficiency advantage compared to performing separate non-ablative and ablative passes. The combination addresses a wide range of skin concerns: solar lentigines and UV-related pigmentation, surface roughness and fine texture irregularities, enlarged pores, fine lines, and mild rhytides, mild sallowness, and early photoageing. The device's SMART scanning technology automates the density and overlap of each micro-zone pass, maintaining consistent coverage and reducing procedural variability. Post-treatment findings include erythema, mild oedema, and a characteristic bronzed appearance as the treated micro-zones move to the surface and exfoliate; most patients experience three to five days of visible downtime before the treated skin surface normalises and a brighter, smoother complexion becomes apparent. Multiple sessions may be recommended for progressive improvement on more advanced photoageing.
