Root canal (endodontic) treatment is needed when the soft tissue inside a tooth — the pulp — becomes infected or irreversibly inflamed through deep decay, a crack or trauma, often causing toothache or sensitivity. The treatment removes the diseased pulp, cleans and disinfects the fine canals inside the roots, and seals them, allowing the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. At Supradent Matuszewscy this is carried out under a surgical operating microscope, which improves visibility of the canal anatomy, and is handled by a dentist who has pursued additional endodontic training, including abroad. Treatment usually starts with a qualification appointment to assess whether the tooth can be saved and to plan the work; this is listed separately on the price list. The procedure itself is done under local anaesthetic and may take one or more visits depending on complexity. The cost reflects the number of canals — single-canal front teeth sit at the lower end of the range and multi-canal molars at the upper end. Because a root-treated tooth can become more brittle, a core build-up and often a crown are recommended afterwards to protect it, and these are priced as separate items. Modern, microscope-based endodontics is associated with high success in retaining the tooth, though outcomes depend on the individual case, and the dentist will explain the prognosis, the likely number of visits and the full restorative plan before starting.
