Coenzyme Q10 injection to support cellular energy production and cardiovascular health. CoQ10 is essential for mitochondrial ATP synthesis and acts as a powerful lipid-soluble antioxidant in cell membranes. Levels naturally decline with age and are further reduced by statin medications — making supplementation particularly relevant for those over 40 or on cholesterol-lowering drugs.

About this treatment

Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is found in every cell in the body, concentrated in the mitochondria where it plays a critical role in the electron transport chain — the final stage of ATP (energy) production. It also functions as one of the few lipid-soluble antioxidants, protecting cell membranes from oxidative damage.

CoQ10 levels peak in your 20s and decline steadily thereafter. By age 80, cardiac CoQ10 levels may be 50 percent lower than at age 20. Statin medications — which roughly 2 million Australians take — further reduce CoQ10 by inhibiting the mevalonate pathway, the same pathway used to produce both cholesterol and CoQ10. This is one reason statins can cause muscle pain and fatigue.

Oral CoQ10 supplements have notoriously poor bioavailability due to the molecule's size and lipid solubility. IM injection delivers CoQ10 directly into muscle tissue, bypassing digestive limitations.
