Intramuscular vitamin B12 injection for energy, mood, and nervous system support. B12 is essential for red blood cell formation, neurological function, DNA synthesis, and myelin sheath maintenance. Particularly beneficial for vegetarians, vegans, those over 50, and anyone with absorption issues — conditions that affect up to 40 percent of the population to some degree.

About this treatment

Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is a water-soluble vitamin that the body cannot produce — it must come from diet or supplementation. It's critical for red blood cell production, neurological function, DNA synthesis, and the maintenance of myelin sheaths that insulate nerve fibres. Deficiency can manifest as fatigue, brain fog, numbness/tingling in extremities, mood changes, and in severe cases, irreversible nerve damage.

Oral B12 requires intrinsic factor (a protein produced in the stomach) for absorption. People with low intrinsic factor production — including those over 50, people taking proton pump inhibitors, and those with gastrointestinal conditions — may absorb very little from oral supplements. IM injection bypasses the gut entirely, delivering B12 directly into muscle tissue for rapid systemic absorption.

The injection itself takes under a minute. At Super Young, a registered nurse administers the shot — typically into the deltoid or gluteal muscle. Most clients feel a brief pinch and nothing more. Energy and mood improvements are often noticed within 24–48 hours.
