The Male Testosterone Annual Monitoring test is a three‑marker blood panel designed for men who have been on testosterone therapy for at least a year. It measures total testosterone, sex‑hormone‑binding globulin (SHBG) and prostate‑specific antigen (PSA) to give a snapshot of hormone balance and prostate health. This test is aimed at adult males on long‑term testosterone replacement who want to track therapy effectiveness and ensure their prostate markers stay within a safe range. It uses a venous blood draw and returns results within a typical laboratory turnaround time.

About this treatment

The Male Testosterone Annual Monitoring (RDX_214) is a focused three‑analyte blood test created for men who have completed a minimum of 12 months of testosterone replacement therapy. By quantifying total testosterone, SHBG and PSA, the panel provides insight into how well the therapy is maintaining physiological hormone levels while also keeping an eye on prostate health, which may be influenced by androgen exposure. Who is this for?

Men on long‑term testosterone therapy

Biomarkers tested

3
PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) ng/mL

A protein produced by prostate cells. Elevated PSA can indicate prostate cancer, but also benign prostate enlargement, prostatitis, or recent ejaculation. PSA velocity (rate of change) and PSA density add diagnostic value.

SHBG (Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin) nmol/L

A protein that binds and transports sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen) in the blood. High SHBG reduces the amount of free, active hormones available. SHBG increases with age, thyroid hormones, and estrogen; decreases with obesity and insulin resistance.

Testosterone (Total) ng/dL

The primary male sex hormone, also important in women at lower levels. Testosterone regulates muscle mass, bone density, fat distribution, libido, and mood. Levels decline naturally with age in both sexes.
