The energy density at the focal point is significantly higher than radial shock wave, making focused FRV the appropriate tool for deeper or more localised musculoskeletal targets: calcific tendinopathies (e.g. shoulder calcific deposits), deep insertional tendinopathies (Achilles, plantar fascia), avascular necrosis, non-union fractures, and selected chronic pain syndromes.
