A small amount of enamel is usually prepared from the front of the tooth to make room for the veneer and ensure it sits flush, an impression or digital scan is taken, and the veneers are crafted to a shade and shape agreed with you before being bonded into place at a later appointment; temporary veneers can protect the teeth in the meantime.
