CT Scan
Duration

A three-dimensional cone-beam CT (CBCT) scan that shows the teeth, jawbone, nerves and sinuses in detail no standard X-ray can provide. It is the imaging of choice for planning dental implants, assessing impacted teeth before surgery and complex root canal anatomy. STOMED has CBCT on site, with the price depending on how large an area is scanned.
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a specialised dental 3D imaging technique that captures the teeth, jawbones, nerve canals and sinuses as a detailed three-dimensional volume, rather than the flattened, two-dimensional picture a conventional X-ray provides. This extra information is invaluable for planning and diagnosis: before placing a dental implant it allows the dentist to measure the exact height and width of available bone and to map the position of nearby nerves and the sinus, so the implant can be positioned safely and precisely. It is also used to assess impacted or unerupted teeth — such as wisdom teeth — before surgical removal, to investigate complex or curved root canal anatomy in endodontics, and to evaluate the extent of infections, cysts or bone loss. Having CBCT available on site means STOMED can carry out this planning imaging directly as part of the treatment pathway, without referring patients elsewhere. The scan itself is quick and straightforward: you remain still for a short time while the machine rotates around your head to capture the images, and modern cone-beam units are designed to use a focused, relatively low radiation dose for the diagnostic detail they provide. The price varies with the field of view required — a scan of a single region or a few teeth sits at the lower end of the range, while a larger volume covering more of the jaw costs more. The resulting three-dimensional data lets the dentist plan surgical and restorative treatment more accurately and discuss the findings with you clearly. The clinic also offers conventional intraoral and panoramic X-rays where a 3D scan is not required, so the level of imaging can be matched to the clinical need.
Key Details

- 3D cone-beam CT (CBCT)
- Used for
- Implants, surgery, endodontics
- Priced by
- Field of view (200–500 zł)
Who Is This For?
Patients planning implants or surgery, or needing detailed 3D dental imaging
What's Included
3D cone-beam CT (CBCT) scan 200–500 zł depending on the field of view (a single region versus a larger volume). For comparison, a panoramic X-ray is 150 zł and a single intraoral X-ray 50 zł. The scan can be provided for planning treatment carried out at the clinic.
