Tooth Extraction

Type

Extraction

Duration

30 min

Removal of a tooth that is too badly decayed, broken or loosened by gum disease to be saved, carried out under local anaesthetic. Straightforward extractions are priced from 350 zł, with more complex cases that require the tooth to be sectioned quoted slightly higher. The clinic provides clear aftercare guidance, and wisdom-tooth and other surgical removals are offered separately.

Although the clinic's emphasis is on saving teeth where possible, extraction is sometimes the best option — for a tooth with extensive decay, a vertical fracture, severe gum disease that has loosened it, or one that is causing repeated infection. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic so the area is fully numb; you may feel pressure but should not feel pain. For a tooth that is intact and accessible, a simple extraction is usually quick. Where a tooth is broken at the gum line or its roots are awkward, the dentist may need to section it into pieces to remove it gently, which the clinic prices as a more complex extraction. Afterwards you are given detailed advice on protecting the blood clot, controlling any bleeding and keeping the site clean while it heals, along with guidance on pain relief. The practice can also manage an acute dental abscess with an incision to drain the infection. Once healing is complete, it is worth discussing how to fill the gap if the tooth was visible or important for chewing — options at the clinic include a dental implant, a fixed bridge or a denture — because leaving a space can allow neighbouring teeth to drift over time. Wisdom teeth and other teeth that need a surgical approach are handled under the clinic's oral surgery service and quoted separately. Your dentist will always explain whether the tooth can realistically be kept before recommending removal.
