Dental Implant (Straumann)

Type

Dental Implants

Duration

2 hours

A titanium implant that replaces the root of a missing tooth and supports a fixed crown, bridge or a more stable denture. Stomatologia Kucharski has worked with the Swiss Straumann system since 2004 and reports more than 1,500 implants placed. Both standard SLA and faster-healing SLActive Straumann surfaces are offered, with the restoring crown priced separately. Cone-beam 3D imaging is used to plan placement precisely.

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is placed into the jawbone to take the place of a missing tooth's root. Over a healing period the bone integrates with the implant surface (osseointegration), creating a stable foundation onto which a crown, bridge or implant-retained denture can later be fixed. Implants are a long-established way to replace one or several teeth without grinding down neighbouring teeth as a conventional bridge would. Stomatologia Kucharski has placed implants since 2004 using the Swiss Straumann system and reports a track record of more than 1,500 procedures. Patients can choose between the standard Straumann SLA surface and the SLActive surface, which is designed to encourage faster early healing. Treatment begins with planning supported by the practice's on-site cone-beam 3D imaging, which shows bone height, width and the position of nerves and sinuses so the implant can be positioned accurately and safely; placement is then carried out under local anaesthetic. After integration, the implant is restored — the practice offers a zirconia abutment and crown, produced with its CEREC system, as the fixed restoration, or an attachment to stabilise a removable denture. Where the bone is insufficient, the practice also provides bone augmentation and sinus-floor procedures to build a suitable site. The number of visits, healing time and the most appropriate restoration are explained during planning, and the published price covers the implant placement with the restoration quoted separately so the cost is transparent.
