Procedures that rebuild or augment the jawbone so that a dental implant can be placed where bone is too thin or too shallow. Stomatologia Kucharski offers guided bone regeneration and both closed and open sinus-floor lifts, planned with cone-beam 3D imaging. They are used alongside implant treatment when the assessment shows the existing bone needs reinforcing to give an implant a stable foundation.

About this treatment

When a tooth has been missing for some time the surrounding bone tends to shrink, and in the upper back jaw the air-filled maxillary sinus can sit low over the ridge. Either situation can leave too little bone to anchor a dental implant securely. Bone augmentation and sinus-lift procedures address this by rebuilding or creating additional bone volume so an implant can be placed with a stable foundation.

At Stomatologia Kucharski guided bone regeneration (GBR) uses a grafting material, often with a protective membrane, to encourage new bone to form and widen or build up a deficient ridge. A sinus lift raises the floor of the sinus membrane to make room for bone in the upper jaw: a closed (internal) lift is a more conservative approach used when only a small increase in height is needed, while an open (lateral-window) lift is a larger procedure for cases…
