A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers a damaged, heavily filled or root-treated tooth to restore its shape, strength and appearance. Stomatologia Chrobrego offers porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns from 1,200 zł and metal-free zirconia (Cercon) crowns for a more natural look. Crowns are made from impressions and fitted over two visits, and can also be combined into bridges to replace a missing tooth.
About this treatment
A crown is a tooth-shaped restoration that fits over a prepared tooth to protect and rebuild it when a filling would not be enough — for example after root canal treatment, a large fracture or extensive decay. It restores the tooth's natural contour and biting function while improving its appearance. At Stomatologia Chrobrego the tooth is first shaped and an impression taken; a laboratory then makes the crown, which is cemented at a second appointment.
The practice offers several crown types so the restoration can be matched to the tooth and budget. A porcelain-fused-to-metal crown combines a strong metal core with a tooth-coloured ceramic surface, while a full-ceramic Cercon crown is made of zirconia with no metal, giving a translucency that is well suited to front teeth and to patients who prefer metal-free work.
