The CoolTech Define cryolipolysis treatment at Spire Clinic uses controlled cooling technology manufactured by Cocoon Medical (Spain) to permanently destroy fat cells in targeted areas through a process called cryolipolysis — the selective destruction of adipocytes (fat cells) by sustained exposure to temperatures between -5 and -11 degrees Celsius. Fat cells are more vulnerable to cold-induced injury than surrounding skin, muscle, and nerve tissue, allowing the device to selectively damage the fat layer while leaving other structures intact. During treatment, the CoolTech Define applicator uses vacuum suction to draw the tissue fold containing the target fat deposit into a cooling cup. Once secured, the applicator cools the tissue to the programmed temperature for approximately 60 minutes. Patients initially feel intense cold and pressure, which typically numbs within 5-10 minutes. The treatment is otherwise painless, and many patients read, work on their phones, or rest during the session.
