Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) using medical-grade laser devices to energise hair follicles, improve scalp circulation, and reduce inflammation associated with hair loss.
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), also known as red light or photobiomodulation therapy for the scalp, is offered at Sozo Aesthetic Clinic as a non-invasive, pain-free treatment to support hair growth and scalp health. LLLT uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light (typically 630–670nm and 800–900nm) to penetrate the scalp and be absorbed by the mitochondria in hair follicle cells. This triggers a cascade of cellular effects including increased ATP (cellular energy) production, enhanced blood flow and oxygen delivery to follicles, reduced inflammatory mediators, and stimulation of follicular keratinocytes into the anagen (active growth) phase. Clinical evidence supports LLLT as an effective adjunctive treatment for androgenetic alopecia in both men and women, with patients typically experiencing reduced hair shedding within 2 to 3 months and improved hair density and thickness over a 6-month course. LLLT is most effective when combined with other hair restoration treatments — at Sozo it is used as part of combination protocols alongside Regenera Activa, PRP, and medications for synergistic results. The treatment is particularly suitable for patients who prefer a completely non-invasive approach or who have needle aversion, and for those who have contraindications to certain medications. Sessions are comfortable and relaxing with no downtime whatsoever.
