Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to the scalp to stimulate dormant hair follicles, improve hair density, and slow androgenetic hair loss.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) hair restoration at Sozo Aesthetic Clinic harnesses the body's own regenerative capacity to treat hair thinning and androgenetic alopecia. The procedure begins with a blood draw from the patient's arm, which is then processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets — tiny blood cells packed with growth factors including platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and transforming growth factor (TGF-β). This platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the scalp at the level of the hair follicles using a fine mesotherapy technique, delivering a high concentration of growth factors directly to the follicular microenvironment. These growth factors stimulate dormant follicles in the telogen (resting) phase to enter the active anagen (growth) phase, increase blood supply to follicles, and prolong the growth phase of active follicles. PRP is most effective for patients in the early to moderate stages of hair loss (Norwood scale 1–4 for men; Ludwig scale I–II for women) and is less effective in areas of complete follicular loss. A typical treatment course consists of 3 sessions at monthly intervals, followed by maintenance sessions every 3 to 6 months. The procedure is well-tolerated with topical anaesthetic applied beforehand, and there is no significant downtime — patients may experience mild scalp tenderness for 24–48 hours.
