About this treatment
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is placed into the jawbone to take the role of a missing tooth's root. Over a healing period the bone integrates with the implant surface, creating a firm anchor onto which a crown — or, in larger cases, a bridge or denture — is later attached. Treatment begins with an assessment of the gap, the surrounding teeth and the volume and quality of bone, which may involve imaging. Where bone is insufficient, the clinic offers augmentation or a sinus lift, quoted separately, to build a suitable site.
