The final crown that is attached to a healed dental implant to complete a single-tooth replacement. Once the implant has integrated with the bone, this crown is made to match the neighbouring teeth in shape and shade and screwed or cemented onto the fixture. At SmileOn the restoration is designed from a digital TRIOS 5 scan for an accurate fit. This step is quoted separately from the implant placement itself.
About this treatment
An implant crown is the visible, tooth-shaped restoration fixed onto a dental implant once the underlying titanium fixture has fully integrated with the jawbone. The crown is typically made of zirconia or layered ceramic for a natural, metal-free appearance and is attached to the implant either with a small screw or by cementation onto an abutment. Because it is supported entirely by the implant, it does not rely on the neighbouring teeth and can be cleaned much like a natural tooth, with particular attention to the gum margin.
