CoolSculpting at Skinly Aesthetics uses the patented cryolipolysis technology developed by ZELTIQ Aesthetics (now Allergan Aesthetics) to selectively eliminate subcutaneous fat cells through controlled, sustained cooling without injury to the overlying skin or surrounding non-fat tissue. The biological basis of cryolipolysis rests on the observation that adipocytes are more susceptible to cold-induced apoptosis than other cell types at the same temperature; when fat tissue is held at approximately -11°C for a sustained treatment cycle, adipocytes undergo programmed cell death while skin, muscle, and nerve tissue remain unaffected. Following treatment, the dead adipocytes are phagocytosed by macrophages and cleared through the lymphatic system over the subsequent four to twelve weeks, producing a gradual and natural-looking reduction in the fat layer volume. Each treatment session uses vacuum-suction applicators that draw the target fat fold into the cooling panels; sessions run approximately thirty-five minutes per applicator, and multiple applicators can be used simultaneously to treat different areas in the same visit, reducing total time.
