Laser Skin Tightening (Youlaser MT)

Laser skin tightening at Skinderm Ostrava uses the Youlaser MT — a dual-wavelength device combining 1540 nm erbium glass and 10,600 nm CO2 — to heat the deeper dermis and stimulate progressive collagen remodelling without ablating the skin surface. The result is a gradual tightening and smoothing of loose or crepey skin on the face, neck, and décolletage with no recovery time. Sessions take 30 minutes and patients can resume normal activities immediately.

The Youlaser MT is a medical-grade device manufactured by Quanta System that uses two complementary laser wavelengths: 1540 nm erbium:glass and 10,600 nm CO2. In the non-ablative tightening mode, the device delivers energy at settings that heat the mid-to-deep dermis and the dermal-epidermal junction to a controlled temperature sufficient to denature and then remodel collagen fibres, while the epidermis is spared. Immediately after heating, collagen contracts slightly (an acute tightening effect); over the following 3–6 months, stimulated fibroblasts lay down new collagen, producing a gradual but durable improvement in firmness and elasticity. At Skinderm, the procedure begins with skin cleansing and, depending on the treatment area and patient sensitivity, topical anaesthetic may or may not be applied. The handpiece is passed across the treatment zone in overlapping pulses; the sapphire cooling tip maintains surface temperature to protect the epidermis while energy is deposited sub-dermally. A typical face treatment takes 30 minutes. Patients describe the sensation as a warm prickling; the intensity is adjustable to patient tolerance. There is no recovery period required — the skin may appear mildly pink for 1–2 hours but there is no peeling, crusting, or significant swelling. This distinguishes non-ablative tightening from the clinic's fractional resurfacing mode, which does produce temporary peeling. Makeup can be worn the same day. Regular daily SPF application is recommended for 2 weeks following treatment. Skin tightening with the Youlaser MT is particularly appropriate for patients with early-to-moderate skin laxity on the face, neck, and décolletage — areas where subtle, gradual improvements are preferred over more dramatic interventions. Results become progressively more noticeable over 3 months and can last 12–18 months before a maintenance session is advised. Patients with more advanced laxity may prefer Morpheus8, which can also remodel the subcutaneous tissue, or thread-lift for immediate mechanical lifting. Contraindications: pregnancy, active skin infection, photosensitising medications, isotretinoin within 6 months, Fitzpatrick types V–VI (requires adjusted parameters and patch test).
