The device incorporates a Sapphire-cooled contact tip that remains at 5°C during treatment, maintaining the epidermis at a temperature that prevents surface burns while the laser energy passes through and heats the follicle bulge and bulb — the regions that contain the stem cells and melanocytes responsible for hair regeneration. This selective heating destroys the follicle's regenerative capacity without ablating the skin surface.
