Vascular Laser — Redness & Broken Vessels

Vascular laser treatment targets visible blood vessels, facial redness and broken capillaries using light absorbed by haemoglobin, leaving surrounding skin largely unaffected. The clinic uses several systems — including CUTERA Excel V+ and Genesis Green — to address redness, spider veins, hemangiomas and red scars on the face, neck, décolletage and legs. A short course is sometimes recommended.

Vascular laser treatment uses specific wavelengths of light that are preferentially absorbed by the haemoglobin inside unwanted blood vessels. The absorbed energy heats and collapses the vessel wall so the vessel is gradually cleared by the body, while the surrounding skin is largely spared. This makes it a targeted way to reduce diffuse facial redness, individual broken capillaries, spider veins, small hemangiomas and persistent red scarring. At Skin Spa the area is cleansed and the practitioner selects the appropriate system — CUTERA Excel V+, CUTERA Genesis Green or a Dye-VL pulsed-light option — and settings for your skin and the type of vessels being treated. A facial session typically takes fifteen to thirty minutes; you may notice transient warmth, redness or, around larger vessels, slight bruising for a few days. Some fine vessels fade after a single session, while more widespread redness or leg vessels often respond best to a short course spaced a few weeks apart. Sun protection before and after treatment is important, and the practitioner will discuss realistic expectations, as results vary with the type and depth of the vessels. The treatment is suited to adults troubled by facial redness, visible capillaries or vascular marks; suitability and any contraindications are reviewed beforehand.
