Platelet-rich plasma uses a small sample of your own blood, spun to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, which is then applied to stimulate skin repair and rejuvenation. Because it is derived entirely from you it is well tolerated, and it is a natural-feeling option for improving skin quality on the face, neck and hands. A short course gives the most noticeable results, and a fibrin (PRF) variant is also offered.
About this treatment
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a regenerative skin treatment that draws on your own blood's healing components. A small sample is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, which carry growth factors that signal tissue repair and collagen production. This concentrated plasma is then injected into the skin or applied alongside microneedling to support tone, texture and firmness.
At Skin-Medic the process — blood draw, preparation and treatment — takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing cream applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of an allergic reaction to a foreign substance, which makes PRP a popular choice for patients who prefer a natural approach.
