Microneedling (Dermapen 4.0)

Dermapen 4.0 microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin, improving texture, fine lines, enlarged pores and acne scarring. A serum is driven into the skin during treatment for added effect, and the clinic offers combinations with plasma or tissue stimulators for a stronger regenerative boost. A short course gives the best results for scarring and uneven texture.

Microneedling with the Dermapen 4.0 device uses a cluster of fine needles oscillating at high speed to create thousands of precise micro-channels in the skin. These tiny, controlled micro-injuries trigger the body's natural repair response, which is associated with fresh collagen and elastin production that firms the skin and refines its surface over the following weeks. The micro-channels also let active serums applied during treatment penetrate more effectively. At Skin-Medic the skin is cleansed and a numbing cream applied before treatment, which takes around thirty to forty-five minutes depending on the area. Expect redness similar to mild sunburn for 24 to 48 hours, after which the skin tends to look fresher and, over a few weeks, smoother and more even. It is well suited to uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines and mild-to-moderate acne scarring, and can be used on the face, neck and décolletage. For best results — particularly with scarring — a course of around three sessions spaced about four weeks apart is recommended.
