Whole-Body MRI (Full)

Type

MRI Scan

Duration

2 hours

A 90-minute comprehensive head-to-toe magnetic resonance imaging scan covering the brain, full spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, major joints, and vascular structures. Uses a Siemens MAGNETOM 1.5T clinical scanner to produce high-resolution cross-sectional images without ionising radiation. A radiologist-interpreted report is delivered within 24 to 48 hours.

The Whole-Body MRI Full at Simply MRI is a comprehensive 90-minute diagnostic imaging session that covers every major anatomical region from head to toe on the clinic's Siemens MAGNETOM 1.5T scanner. This is the clinic's most thorough offering, designed for individuals who want the broadest possible screening in a single visit. The scan begins with brain and intracranial imaging, evaluating parenchymal tissue, ventricles, white matter integrity, and vascular structures for space-occupying lesions, aneurysms, and early signs of neurodegenerative changes. The full spine sequence covers cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions, screening for disc herniations, spinal canal stenosis, vertebral body changes, and cord abnormalities. Chest imaging evaluates the lungs, mediastinum, and cardiac structures. While MRI is not the primary modality for lung parenchyma screening (CT remains superior for tiny pulmonary nodules), it provides excellent soft-tissue contrast for mediastinal masses, cardiac morphology, and pleural abnormalities without radiation exposure. Abdominal and pelvic sequences deliver detailed views of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, adrenal glands, bladder, and reproductive organs. The liver sequences can identify focal lesions, fatty infiltration, and iron overload. Renal imaging evaluates cysts, masses, and collecting system anatomy. Pelvic imaging screens for prostate (men) or uterine and ovarian (women) pathology. Major joint imaging covers shoulders, hips, and knees — the joints most commonly affected by degenerative changes, meniscal tears, and ligament pathology. Vascular sequences provide a non-contrast angiographic overview of major arterial and venous structures, screening for stenosis, aneurysms, and flow abnormalities. The 90-minute scan time reflects the thoroughness of coverage. The Siemens MAGNETOM 1.5T platform is a clinical-grade system used in hospitals worldwide, chosen for its proven reliability, image quality, and patient comfort. The wide bore design accommodates a broader range of body types and reduces the claustrophobic sensation that some clients associate with MRI. No physician referral is required. The radiologist-interpreted report is delivered within 24 to 48 hours, with urgent findings communicated immediately. The report provides a systematic region-by-region summary suitable for sharing with the client's family physician or specialists.
