Shine Dermatology Clinic takes a diagnostic-first approach, accurately classifying pigmentation before selecting a treatment modality — a step that is critical for avoiding aggravating conditions like melasma with inappropriate energy settings. The clinic addresses the full spectrum of pigmentation disorders. Melasma — chronic, hormonally influenced discolouration typically appearing across the cheeks, forehead, and upper lip — is treated with Pico Laser in low-fluence toning mode combined with medical-grade topical agents such as tranexamic acid, niacinamide, and hydroquinone where appropriate. Sun spots and solar lentigines caused by cumulative UV exposure are targeted with AlexTriVantage or Excel V, which can clear discrete lesions in one to two sessions. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) arising from acne, eczema flares, or previous procedures responds well to Pico Laser combined with controlled skin cycling protocols.
