For benign pigmented moles with a flat or raised profile, SmartXide Ablative CO2 laser removal is the preferred approach. The laser ablates the lesion with precision, layer by layer, without the need for sutures in most cases. For lesions that are clinically uncertain, atypical in appearance, or located in areas where laser removal would be contraindicated, surgical excision under local anaesthesia is performed. The specimen is then sent for histopathological analysis by a certified laboratory to confirm the diagnosis. This is the same standard applied in hospital dermatology departments.
