Shine Dermatology Clinic's laser suite is one of Singapore's most comprehensive, housing seven advanced systems sourced from leading US and European manufacturers. Each laser is selected for a distinct clinical purpose, enabling Dr Rajaratnam to create highly targeted treatment plans rather than relying on a single device. The Pico Laser delivers ultra-short picosecond pulses that shatter pigment particles into dust-fine fragments, making it the gold standard for melasma, tattoo removal, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne. Treatment typically requires three to six sessions spaced four weeks apart, with only mild transient redness as downtime. The AlexTriVantage Laser uses an alexandrite wavelength optimised for freckles, sun spots, and flat brown moles. Its design accommodates darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI), which are common in Singapore's multi-ethnic population, reducing the risk of post-treatment pigment changes. VBeam Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) targets oxyhaemoglobin within blood vessels, making it the preferred choice for rosacea, facial redness, spider veins, port-wine stains, and red or hypertrophic scars. Sessions are brief and results are typically visible after two to four treatments. Excel V is a dual-wavelength platform combining 532 nm KTP and 1064 nm Nd:YAG energy, broadening the range of vascular and pigmentation concerns that can be addressed in a single appointment. SmartXide Fractional CO2 resurfaces the skin by creating thousands of microscopic treatment columns, stimulating new collagen production to improve acne scars, surgical scars, and fine lines, with seven to ten days of recovery. SmartXide Ablative CO2 precisely removes raised lesions such as moles, warts, syringoma, and other benign growths without the need for surgical excision in many cases. GentleLase uses a long-pulsed alexandrite wavelength to permanently reduce unwanted hair on lighter skin tones, with results typically achieved over six to eight sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart.
