Laser Hair Removal

The procedure works by targeting melanin concentrated in the hair follicle with selective photothermolysis — destroying the follicle's growth capacity while leaving the surrounding skin unaffected.

Dr Rajaratnam's dermatological background means each patient undergoes a thorough skin assessment before treatment begins. Fitzpatrick skin type, hair colour, and the density of the target area are all factored into the energy settings, pulse duration, and cooling parameters used.

Hair grows in cycles — anagen (active growth), catagen (transition), and telogen (resting) — and the laser is only effective on follicles in the active anagen phase. This biological reality is why a course of six to eight sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart is required to intercept sufficient follicles over time.
