The RF energy creates additional thermal coagulation zones in the dermis at the precise depth set by the device, adding a dermal heating component to the collagen stimulation — producing a more pronounced tightening and remodelling effect compared to microneedling alone, particularly for skin laxity and deeper acne scars. Both modalities are performed after topical numbing cream is applied for 30–45 minutes to minimize discomfort. Sessions run approximately 45–60 minutes including numbing time. Post-treatment redness and mild swelling typically resolve within 24–48 hours for standard microneedling and up to 72 hours for RF microneedling.
