Superficial peels using alpha-hydroxy acids such as glycolic or lactic acid, or low-concentration salicylic acid, target the outermost epidermal layers to brighten dull skin, improve mild acne congestion, and reduce surface irregularities. Downtime is minimal — typically mild flaking for two to four days — and treatments can be repeated monthly as part of an ongoing skin maintenance program.

Medium-depth peels using trichloroacetic acid (TCA) reach the papillary dermis to more effectively address moderate sun damage, persistent hyperpigmentation, melasma, fine lines, and mild scarring.
