Sciton BBL HERO (BroadBand Light High Energy Rapid Output) for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation correction, acne, redness, and hair removal. The HERO upgrade delivers energy faster across larger areas, allowing a full-face session in fifteen to twenty minutes. Addresses sunspots, freckles, melasma, broken capillaries, rosacea, and general skin texture. Minimal downtime — mild redness resolves within hours.
SDBotox uses the Sciton BBL HERO — the high-energy rapid output iteration of Sciton's industry-leading BroadBand Light platform — for photorejuvenation and targeted vascular and pigment correction. BBL HERO emits intense pulsed broad-spectrum light filtered through interchangeable cut-off filters to target specific chromophores in the skin: melanin (for pigmentation and hair) and oxyhemoglobin (for vascular lesions and redness) can be addressed selectively in the same session by switching filters. The HERO platform delivers its therapeutic fluence at significantly higher peak power than standard BBL, enabling the same clinical endpoint to be achieved faster — a full-face treatment session completes in approximately fifteen to twenty minutes, compared to thirty to forty-five minutes with first-generation IPL systems. This makes it practical to treat larger body areas including the chest (décolletage), shoulders, arms, and hands for photoaging and sun damage correction. At SDBotox, the BBL HERO is used within multiple clinical protocols: pigmentation and photorejuvenation treatments targeting sunspots (solar lentigines), freckles, melasma, and uneven skin tone; vascular treatments for broken capillaries, facial redness, rosacea, and port wine stains; acne protocols using specific blue-light and yellow-light filter sequences to reduce P. acnes bacteria and suppress sebaceous activity; and hair removal across body areas. The Forever Young BBL programme — based on a landmark Stanford study finding that annual BBL photorejuvenation appears to reverse certain gene expression markers associated with photoaging — is also available. Post-treatment, mild redness and superficial darkening of treated pigmented spots are typical; the darkened spots flake off naturally within one to two weeks, revealing cleared skin beneath.
