Scottsdale Plastic Surgery is the private practice of James M. Nachbar, MD, FACS, a double board-certified plastic surgeon who has practiced in Scottsdale, Arizona since 1995. Dr. Nachbar holds board certifications from both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and completed his plastic surgery residency and subspecialty fellowships in microsurgery, hand surgery, and burns at the University of Virginia. He is a former Chief of Plastic Surgery and Program Director at the University of New Mexico, served as Vice-Chair of the Surgery Committee at HonorHealth Osborn from 2010 to 2016, and has held national committee roles at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). In 2017 he completed a JD at Phoenix School of Law and was admitted to the Arizona Bar in 2018, adding a dual law-and-medicine perspective to patient advocacy and informed consent. Dr. Nachbar pioneered the No-Drain Tummy Tuck technique in Arizona — the practice's signature abdominoplasty approach — and was the first surgeon in Arizona to introduce 3-D breast surgery simulation in 2008.
