Ellansé S is a next-generation injectable that combines the immediate volumising effect of a dermal filler with the long-term collagen-stimulating properties of a biostimulator. It consists of polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) gel carrier. The CMC gel provides instant volume correction at the time of injection, while the PCL microspheres stimulate neocollagenesis — new collagen formation — over the following months. The "S" designation indicates the shortest-duration formulation in the Ellansé range, with results lasting approximately 1 year. This makes it a good entry point for patients new to biostimulators who want to evaluate results before committing to longer-lasting variants (Ellansé M lasts ~2 years, L ~3 years, E ~4 years). The shorter duration also provides practitioners with more flexibility to adjust treatment plans as the patient's face changes over time.
