A laboratory-made restoration that rebuilds a back tooth more conservatively than a crown when a simple filling would not be strong enough. Inlays and onlays are bonded into and over the chewing surface, while an endocrown restores a root-treated molar in one piece. Salvus IDC offers durable composite and natural-looking porcelain versions, each precisely fitted and bonded for a strong, long-lasting repair, with a clear published price.
Inlays, onlays and endocrowns are custom, laboratory-made restorations that sit between a filling and a full crown. They are the preferred choice when a back tooth has lost too much structure for a reliable direct filling but still has enough healthy tooth that a complete crown would be unnecessarily destructive. An inlay fits neatly within the chewing surface, an onlay also covers one or more cusps to protect a weakened tooth, and an endocrown restores a root-treated molar as a single bonded piece that anchors into the pulp chamber. At Salvus IDC the tooth is prepared conservatively under local anaesthetic and an impression or digital scan is taken, from which the restoration is precisely milled or crafted to fit. The clinic offers a hard-wearing composite version and a porcelain (ceramic) version that blends naturally with the tooth and resists staining, each published at a transparent price. At a second visit the restoration is bonded firmly into place and the bite is checked and adjusted so it feels comfortable. Because they are made outside the mouth and bonded precisely, these restorations are associated with excellent fit, strength and longevity while preserving more of the natural tooth than a crown would. They are particularly suited to rebuilding large cavities and protecting root-treated or cracked back teeth, and the dentist will advise whether an inlay, onlay or endocrown — and which material — best suits the individual tooth.
