MR angiography at Sagena Frýdek-Místek maps blood flow and vessel anatomy without catheters or radiation — covering the brain arteries, carotid and vertebral arteries, aorta and lower-limb vessels. Native (contrast-free) MRA visualises cerebral vessels for aneurysm and stenosis screening, while contrast-enhanced MRA gives high-detail studies of the carotids, aortic segments or leg arteries. Both run on Siemens 1.5T/3T scanners with self-pay appointments typically within 24–72 hours.
MR angiography (MRA) images arteries and veins non-invasively — no arterial puncture as in catheter angiography and no radiation or iodinated contrast as in CT angiography, which makes it well suited both to diagnosis and to repeated follow-up. **Native (non-contrast) MRA** uses time-of-flight techniques that exploit flowing blood's own signal — no injection needed at all. It is the standard screening study for intracranial aneurysms (relevant for people with a family history or polycystic kidney disease), arterial stenoses and vascular malformations of the brain, and is included in Sagena's whole-body programme as intracranial angiography. **Contrast-enhanced MRA** injects a gadolinium agent timed to arterial flow for high-detail luminal imaging of larger territories: the carotid and vertebral arteries (stroke and TIA risk work-up), segments of the aorta (aneurysm and dissection surveillance) and the pelvic and lower-limb arteries (peripheral arterial disease — claudication work-up before intervention planning). At Sagena this is priced as a standalone study at 8,000 Kč plus contrast. **Typical indications:** screening after a relative's brain aneurysm, pulsatile tinnitus, TIA/stroke risk assessment of the carotids, follow-up of known aortic dilatation, and leg pain on walking suggesting peripheral arterial disease. Findings are reported by the radiology team and can be taken to your neurologist, angiologist or vascular surgeon; Sagena itself runs angiology and vascular surgery clinics on site if follow-up is needed. **The examination** takes roughly 20–40 minutes depending on territory. Standard MRI exclusions apply (pacemaker, neurostimulator, cochlear implant, certain clips, eye metal, insulin pump, first-trimester pregnancy); report kidney disease before contrast studies. Self-pay slots are available from 24 hours with a 72-hour guarantee.
