The SMAS facelift with neck lift at RVmedCentrum is the clinic's most comprehensive facial rejuvenation procedure, repositioning the deep SMAS layer (subcutaneous musculoaponeurotic system) alongside the platysma muscle in the neck. Suited to patients 45+ with significant facial and neck laxity, this procedure delivers the most durable surgical result — typically 10 to 15 years — and is performed under local or general anaesthesia based on patient preference.
About this treatment
The SMAS facelift addresses the full lower face and neck in a single procedure, making it appropriate for patients with substantial facial descent, deep nasolabial folds, jowl formation, and neck laxity including platysmal banding. The patient may choose local anaesthesia (with or without sedation) or general anaesthesia based on personal comfort. The procedure is outpatient — patients return home the same day. An elastic bandage is worn continuously for 2 to 3 weeks, then at night only for an additional week. Check-ups begin at days 2 to 3, with sutures removed at day 14. Bruising and swelling generally resolve within 2 to 3 weeks, after which the patient is comfortable resuming…
