Chemical Peels
Duration
30 min
A superficial chemical peel using glycolic or salicylic acid for skin texture improvement, mild hyperpigmentation correction, and pore refinement. Minimal downtime with visible results after a single session and cumulative benefits from a series.
The standard chemical peel at Ruczaj Clinic uses superficial-depth exfoliating acids — typically glycolic acid (an alpha-hydroxy acid derived from sugar cane) or salicylic acid (a beta-hydroxy acid) — to accelerate the natural shedding of the outermost skin layers. This controlled exfoliation stimulates cell turnover, revealing fresher skin with improved texture, more even tone, and refined pore appearance. Glycolic acid peels work by breaking the bonds between dead corneocytes on the skin surface, allowing them to shed more rapidly. At concentrations used in clinical settings (typically 30-70%), they penetrate into the upper epidermis, stimulating collagen synthesis and improving the skin's moisture-retention capacity. Salicylic acid peels are oil-soluble, making them particularly effective for acne-prone and oily skin types, as they can penetrate into the pore lining and reduce sebum congestion. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. After thorough cleansing, the acid solution is applied in layers, with the practitioner monitoring skin response to determine the appropriate contact time. A neutralising solution is applied to stop the peel, followed by a soothing mask and SPF protection. Mild tingling or warmth during the procedure is normal. Downtime is minimal — mild flaking or dryness may occur for 2-4 days. Sun protection is essential for at least two weeks post-treatment, as freshly peeled skin is more susceptible to UV damage and hyperpigmentation. A series of 4-6 peels spaced 2-4 weeks apart typically produces the most significant cumulative results. At 300 PLN (approximately €70), the standard chemical peel is an accessible entry point to clinical-grade skincare, suitable as a standalone treatment or as a complementary procedure alongside botox or filler treatments during a medical tourism visit.
