Private Infrared Sauna Suite

Type

Massage Therapy

Duration

1 hour

Private infrared sauna suites at Remedy Place's Flatiron location offering sixty-minute sessions of full-spectrum infrared heat therapy. Infrared wavelengths penetrate soft tissue more deeply than traditional convection saunas at lower ambient temperatures, making sessions more comfortable for extended heat exposure. Used for cardiovascular support, detoxification via sweat, muscle relaxation, and as a pre-cryo thermal contrast. Available individually or as part of the Contrast Suite ($200).

Remedy Place's private infrared sauna suites offer sixty-minute sessions in individual rooms using full-spectrum infrared emitters rather than the convection heating used in traditional Finnish-style saunas. Infrared saunas heat the body by emitting infrared radiation — specifically near-infrared, mid-infrared, and far-infrared wavelengths — that is absorbed directly by the skin and underlying tissue rather than heating the air around the body first. This results in a lower ambient cabin temperature (typically 120–150°F versus 180–195°F in convection saunas) while achieving comparable or deeper tissue heating because the infrared energy penetrates several centimetres into muscle and connective tissue. The direct tissue absorption makes infrared sauna sessions more comfortable to sustain for a full sixty minutes for most users. At Remedy Place, the sauna suites are private rooms — not shared communal facilities — allowing the experience to be personalised in terms of temperature setting and use of the full session time without the social pressure of a shared space. The infrared sauna is used across several programming contexts at the club: standalone as a recovery or detox session, as the hot component in the Contrast Suite ($200), which pairs the sauna with the guided ice bath in an alternating hot-cold contrast circuit, and as a warm-up before cryotherapy. The sauna is rated at two credits per session under the membership credit system, and the non-member a-la-carte price is $100 per sixty-minute session. Day pass holders ($350) have unlimited access to the sauna as part of their day visit.
