Paediatric dermatology at RAJSKA Clinic provides specialist skin care for children of all ages including infants, with consultations conducted in a calm, child-friendly manner with parents fully involved in the assessment and treatment planning. Conditions treated include atopic eczema (the most common paediatric skin condition), viral warts and molluscum contagiosum, psoriasis, bacterial and fungal infections (impetigo, tinea), vitiligo, and allergic skin reactions. Preventive mole screening is offered from early childhood. The thirty-minute consultation format allows time for thorough examination and parental education — considerably more than standard paediatric or general practice appointments.
About this treatment
Children's skin has distinct physiological properties from adult skin — it is thinner, more permeable, more reactive, and more prone to secondary infection of excoriated lesions. Paediatric dermatology requires not only specialist knowledge of skin diseases but also age-appropriate assessment and communication skills, and an understanding of the impact of chronic skin conditions on quality of life for both the child and the family.
At RAJSKA Clinic, paediatric dermatology consultations are offered for children from birth through to adolescence, with the same thirty-minute format as adult consultations. Parents are present throughout and actively involved in the treatment discussion.
