Type
MRI Scan
Duration
1 hour
Pharmacological stress cardiac MRI combining rest and stress perfusion imaging to detect inducible myocardial ischaemia. Assesses both cardiac function and coronary perfusion reserve without radiation.
The stress cardiac MRI at RADTOP adds pharmacological stress perfusion to the resting cardiac protocol, enabling detection of inducible ischaemia that may not be apparent at rest. A vasodilator agent is administered intravenously to simulate exercise conditions, and first-pass perfusion images are acquired during peak stress and compared with rest perfusion. This examination provides information about coronary artery disease severity that is complementary to anatomical imaging. It is associated with high diagnostic accuracy for detecting haemodynamically significant coronary stenosis and may support clinical decision-making regarding the need for invasive angiography or revascularisation. The scan is performed under physician supervision with continuous ECG and blood pressure monitoring.
