Duration
35 min
MRI of the pelvic region covering bladder, reproductive organs, rectum, and pelvic lymph nodes. Suitable for pelvic pain investigation, gynaecological assessment, and cancer staging.
The pelvic MRI provides cross-sectional imaging of the structures within the minor pelvis. In female patients the examination evaluates the uterus, ovaries, and parametrial tissues; in male patients the focus includes the bladder, seminal vesicles, and rectum. Both sexes receive assessment of pelvic sidewall musculature and lymph node stations. Common indications include pelvic pain of unclear origin, endometriosis mapping, fibroid assessment, ovarian mass characterisation, rectal cancer staging, and bladder tumour evaluation. Contrast enhancement is available at additional cost when the radiologist considers it beneficial for tissue characterisation.
