Type
MRI Scan
Duration
25 min
MRI of the lumbosacral spine covering L1 through S1, evaluating discs, nerve roots, cauda equina, and facet joints. The most frequently requested spinal examination for lower back pain and sciatica.
The lumbosacral spine MRI at RADTOP images the five lumbar vertebrae and sacrum, covering the region responsible for the majority of back pain and radiculopathy cases. Standard sequences include sagittal T1, T2, and STIR plus axial images at each disc level, revealing herniations, spinal canal stenosis, facet joint hypertrophy, and spondylolisthesis. For patients with bilateral leg symptoms or bladder disturbance, the examination specifically evaluates cauda equina integrity. The scan is available without referral for self-pay patients, with appointments bookable through Doctolib. Contrast enhancement is an optional add-on.
