CT Scan

Type

CT Scan

Duration

20 min

Diagnostic computed tomography for any body region using modern multislice technology. Available with or without contrast agent across multiple Munich locations. Dose-optimised protocols minimise radiation exposure.

Radiologie München offers general computed tomography across its nine Munich-area radiology locations, covering the full range of body regions including head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and extremities. The practice operates multislice CT scanners that acquire multiple simultaneous image layers per rotation using spiral CT protocols, enabling rapid acquisitions that minimise motion artefact while reducing patient scan time. All CT examinations are performed with dose-optimised protocols that calculate the minimum radiation required to achieve the target image quality for each indication. This matters both for single examinations and for patients who may require repeat imaging over months or years, where cumulative dose management is clinically important. The practice publicly highlights their dose reduction approach, describing their Dual-Source cardiac CT as achieving radiation exposure well below 1 mSv — approximately three-quarters less than older cardiac CT approaches. For abdominal and pelvic CT, oral contrast may be administered 10 to 45 minutes before the scan to opacify the bowel. Intravenous iodine contrast is standard for abdominal, vascular, and oncological staging examinations. Patients who need IV contrast must provide current kidney function (creatinine) and thyroid (TSH) values, typically from within the past six weeks. The practice accepts self-pay patients who do not have a referral, as well as those with private health insurance and statutory insurance referrals. Most scans are interpreted by specialist radiologists from the practice partnership, with results typically available on the same day. Common referral indications include suspected malignancy and staging, abdominal pain investigation, kidney stone assessment, lung nodule characterisation, trauma follow-up, and orthopaedic imaging where bone detail is the primary requirement. Appointments run Monday through Friday, 08:00 to 18:00, bookable via Doctolib or by telephone.
