Type
MRI Scan
Duration
25 min
MRI of a single knee joint evaluating menisci, cruciate and collateral ligaments, articular cartilage, and bone marrow. No referral needed.
The knee MRI at Radiologie Dr. Jung provides comprehensive imaging of all knee structures — menisci, cruciate ligaments, collateral ligaments, articular cartilage, patellar tendon, and bone marrow. The open-bore scanner allows comfortable positioning for knee examinations, and the scan is completed in approximately 25 minutes. The protocol includes sagittal proton-density and T2-weighted sequences optimized for meniscal assessment, coronal images for collateral ligament evaluation, and axial images for patellofemoral tracking. The radiologist systematically documents medial and lateral meniscal integrity, anterior and posterior cruciate ligament status, articular cartilage grading on all three compartments, and bone marrow signal for contusions or occult fractures. This is one of the most frequently requested musculoskeletal MRI examinations, commonly indicated after sports injuries, for chronic knee pain without clear diagnosis, before arthroscopic surgery, and for monitoring known cartilage defects. Dr. Jung provides a personal consultation after the scan in the patient's preferred language.
