The female pelvis MRI at Radiologie Dr. Jung uses sequences specifically optimized for gynaecological anatomy. The examination provides high-resolution imaging of the uterus (endometrium, junctional zone, myometrium, cervix), ovaries, fallopian tubes when distended, parametrial tissues, and the pouch of Douglas. The protocol includes sagittal, axial, and coronal T2-weighted sequences for uterine zonal anatomy, T1 with fat suppression for haemorrhagic lesions and endometriomas, and STIR for oedema and inflammation. The radiologist maps fibroid location and size for treatment planning (distinguishing submucosal, intramural, and subserosal types), characterizes ovarian masses using the O-RADS MRI scoring system, and documents endometriotic implants including deep infiltrating endometriosis.
