Type
MRI Scan
Duration
30 min
MRI scan of the neurocranium and brain at Radiologie Dr. Jung. Evaluates structural abnormalities, space-occupying lesions, vascular changes, and degenerative conditions. Same-day image access and personal consultation with Dr. Jung included.
The brain MRI at Radiologie Dr. Jung provides detailed cross-sectional imaging of the cerebral hemispheres, brainstem, cerebellum, and skull base structures. The open-bore scanner with its short magnet design means many patients can have their head positioned near the edge of the bore rather than deep inside it, reducing the sense of confinement that conventional tunnel scanners produce. The standard protocol covers axial, sagittal, and coronal planes using T1-weighted, T2-weighted, FLAIR, and diffusion-weighted sequences. This combination identifies space-occupying lesions, ischaemic changes, white matter disease, congenital malformations, and signs of neurodegeneration. For patients with specific concerns such as pituitary pathology or inner ear disorders, targeted protocols can be arranged. After the scan, Dr. Jung discusses preliminary findings in a personal consultation. Digital images are available online the same day for sharing with referring physicians. The practice does not require a referral for self-pay patients, and consultations are available in six languages including English, French, and Portuguese.
